On the evening of April, 22nd, “Dear Booker·The fifth Happy-reading Festival ceremony in 2018” was held in the first floor of the Science Museum. It was hosted by publicity depatment of CPC of oue university and organized by our institute, performed and planned by students major in edition and publish.
The attendees in the ceremony inclueds: the vice-minister of Propaganda Department of Party Committee Dang Hongjun, the dean of college of journalism and communication Yang Mengya, vice-dean on teaching Yan Li, vice-dean on scientific research Wang Pengfei, professor Li Jianwei,the instructor of third grade, Wang Youfang, doctor Qi Tao, secretay and assistant to the dean Yu chunsheng, director of editing and publishing department Wang Zhigang, teacher of editing and pulishing Guo Jing, doctor Duan Yuechuan, professor of factly of arts in Shangqiu Normal College Zhang Songlin.The guest speakers are Zhang Yu, the member of chinese writers association and former chairman of Henan writers association, and Liu Tao, the doctoral supervisor of college of arts. The ceremony was hosted by Cheng Jie, the junior student and Peng Jianing, the sophomore. Most parts of students were present.
Firstly, Yang Mengya addressed his speech. He analyzes the reading situation around the world, and pointed that a huge gap between China and other developed countries on reading. It is necessary for us to cultivate a good reading habit. "The height of life lies in the reading." Yang Meng ya encourages students to read more books through World Reading Day and "Happy-reading Festival", hoping that students can use the golden time in University to cultivate virtues of reading, and he wishes this award ceremony to be held successfully.
As one of the special guests of this event, Zhang Yu told“what reading brings to us" in a humorous language , and won rounds of laughter and applause of the teachers and students. He divided the readers into two categories: the poor and the rich, who know the world, or think about the future value by their reading. The meaning of reading for Zhang Yu was to understand the fate of other people, to enjoy the process of reading, to find works that are congenial, and to find the direction of literary creation. "Reading is a window to open the mind, and an spiritual communication." He advocated that students enjoy first in reading and then learn after reading. After the meeting, Zhang Yu also handed out one hundred books ”Pain and Touch” to students, attached his autograph.
Liu Tao shared his reading experience with teachers and students, he talked about his utilitarian reading in high school and gradually became professional reading during master’s and doctor’s study. He pointed out that many college students read too many textbooks, but too little other books, so Liu Tao suggested that students read more literature. When he talked about his recent reading about the national newspaper, he found Lu Xun's serious revision and rigorous analysis. He said: "reading should also be attributed to the awe for words." Liu Tao believes that reading can not be passively accepted. He hopes that students can grow up to “writter” from "reader", thus reching the highest level of reading.
Tt proceeded to the part-presenting awards. This festival is unique, which requires photos named for the book’s title, and to collect the works of the students from all colleges and universities throughout the country. In the end, prize winners( three for first prize, six for second, nine for thied) are selected from the numerous entries. After announced the winners, the leaders who attended the event presented prizes for the winners and took a group photo.
In addition, the interactive sessions that are interspersed in the ceremony are brilliant. As the leading actors, the passionate poetry recitation of some editorial juniors recive rounds of applause. The guessing titles through claasic sections or movies ignited the scene atmosphere, the spectators were so eager to have a try that answers had been put forward when the clip has not been played. After the interaction, the students in the editorial class sent beautiful gifts to the lucky viewers. Later, Yang Mengya announced that the "Reading Plan for 100 Classics" was launched, and the awarding ceremony was successfully concluded in the song “Graduation” of the editorial class chorus.
